Ukrainians Using Scrap Metal From Old Cars for Protection

Ukrainians are using metal from old cars to protect themselves. Ukrainian civilians are sanding and shaping scrap metal from vehicles and metal trash cans into an added layer of protection inside flak jackets. This comes as over 3.5 million people have fled Ukraine, according to United Nations estimates. At least 925 civilians have been killed and around 1,500 injured since Russia began its attack on Ukraine on 24 February.
