ENSURING TRAINING MEETS TECHNICAL STANDARDS
STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
What are NOS?
National Occupational Standards represent the gold standard of performance within the dismantling sector, developed using an industry-wide consensus of what is deemed both essential and best practice.
Unlike traditional peer-to-peer handover training, a standardised training programme adhering to a defined syllabus, will address many of the challenges the sector currently faces.
APPLYING STANDARDS
"What cannot be measured cannot be improved!"
STANDARDISATION
Standardisation provides us with a measure to drive improvement – be it in safety, compliance, quality, time, efficiency, productivity or the bottom line. Once an activity is executed to a recognised standard, it can be measured and monitored, and from here, a business can really start to drive their vehicle recycling performance.
INDUSTRY TRIED & TESTED
NOS are tried and tested, with these standards already underpinning apprenticeships and qualifications across the UK. Furthermore, these standards were built by the industry - the Vehicle Recyclers Association (VRA) and the British Vehicle Salvage Federation (BVSF), as well as employers, industry experts and other relevant organisations - working collaboratively to ensure they are fit for purpose. In addition, NOS can deliver wider value across a business, making employee recruitment more effective, motivating employees and strengthening staff retention.
