Refrigerant Recovery from Vehicle Air Conditioning
Hazardous waste includes equipment containing ozone depleting substances, like air conditioning equipment in motor vehicles. This course provides an overview of safely and compliantly working and decommissioning air-conditioning systems in motor vehicles, and the health and safety risks involved.
This course covers:
An overview of what Fluorinated Gas (F Gas) is.
How these gases damage the environment.
Legislation relating to F Gas.
Familiarisation of the chemical and refrigerant hazards associated with recovering, handling and storing pressurised refrigerant gas.
Awareness of suitable and appropriate PPE to protect against such hazards.
How a modern vehicle air conditioning system functions.
Typical refrigerant recovery machinery and how they work.
How to safely handle, store and transport pressurised cylinders appropriately.
How to properly record and report F Gas activities to the appropriate authorities.
NOTE: Personnel carrying out operations on MAC systems containing F Gas refrigerants must have appropriate qualifications. This training course does not replace the F Gas qualification.
