About the Course

Personnel carrying out operations on MAC systems containing F Gas refrigerants must have appropriate qualifications. This training course meets the F Gas qualification requirement.

Hazardous waste includes equipment containing ozone depleting substances, like air conditioning equipment in motor vehicles. This course provides an overview of safely and compliantly working and decommissioning air-conditioning systems in motor vehicles, and the health and safety risks involved.

The 7543-01 has been designed to provide the essential practical knowledge in automotive air conditioning fundamentals and refrigerant handling:


  • This enables technicians carry out servicing procedures, component identification, leak checking and refrigerant handling in a professional, safe and legal manner.


  • This unit is recognised by the UK Government as exceeding the minimum requirements of European Commission Directive 307/2008.


  • This regulation requires that persons handling fluorinated gases must be appropriately trained and possess a certificate attesting to the fact.


  • This unit can be taken on its own! It also ensures technicians; employers and employees meet their duty of care under COSHH regulations.


  • On successful completion of practical and verbal assessments you will obtain an accredited City & Guilds 7543-01 certificate in Mobile Vehicle Air Conditioning and Refrigerant Handling.


  • The course is delivered and completed during a one day period, depending on your competence.
