ELV TRAINING

Our very first training module provides a starting point for all of our other ELV training. This module offers an overview of end-of-life vehicles, relevant legislation and the fundamentals of the depollution and dismantling processes.

There are numerous pieces of legislation and law that apply to the ELV sector. This course offers an overview of UK and EU ELV legislation and enforcement, in addition to providing a summary of the overarching Health and Safety Laws that apply to the vehicle dismantling sector.

The HSE and Health and Safety regulations including LOLER and PUWER require lift safety training for anyone who operates an automotive lift. This course teaches the correct use of vehicle lifts.

Most people do not realise how toxic antifreeze and screen wash really is. This course teaches how to safely recover and store these vehicle fluids and ensures that delegates have a solid understanding of all associated hazards and risks.

ELV depollution can create large volumes of hazardous substances that need to be handled and stored safely and appropriately. This course is designed to ensure delegates understand the requirements associated with the safe storage of hazardous materials and substances, after they have been extracted from an ELV.

Legislation stipulates that Authorised Treatment Facilities have certain responsibilities once they have depolluted an End-of-Life vehicle. This course explores the post-depollution requirements of ELVs, and the responsibilities of ATFs.

Technicians working with alternative fuelled LPG powered cars and vans must be able to safely recover or flare the fuel from an ELV. This course teaches delegates how to do it safely.

AdBlue® / AUS32 / DEF is essential for the operation of some cars, tractors, trucks, trains and boats. This course is designed for anyone who needs the technical knowledge to be able to safely and compliantly recover AdBlue® / AUS32 /DEF from those diesel fuelled vehicles that incorporate it as part of a Selective Catalytic Reduction system.

ELV Regulations categorise end-of-life motor vehicles as waste (much of which is made up of hazardous materials) and as such, strict controls apply. This course provides an overview of the legal requirements in relation to scrapping, disposal and recycling of ELVs, including their storage and treatment by Authorised Treatment Facilities.

Hazardous waste includes equipment containing ozone depleting substances, like air conditioning equipment in motor vehicles. This course provides an overview of safely and compliantly working and decommissioning air-conditioning systems in motor vehicles, and the health and safety risks involved.

Personnel carrying out operations on MAC systems containing F Gas refrigerants must have appropriate qualifications. This training course meets the F Gas qualification requirement.
