Copart has been recycling and remarketing EVs for many years. Over that period Copart has developed appropriate processes, skills, and infrastructure. Copart are continuously looking at the opportunity to recycle vehicles and parts, including EV parts and batteries.
This year, Copart have partnered with the Institute of Vehicle Recovery for a national rollout of Electric (EV) and Hybrid Vehicle familiarisation training for their drivers involved in their collection service. They are also implementing a unique and bespoke driver CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) module specifically around EVs to ensure their recovery drivers are fully aware of the hazards associated with high voltage systems.
